It's been a long while! It has nothing to do with blog abandonment, but between brainstorming new ideas, promoting on platforms other than my blog, and dealing with the flu and crap, I've been neglecting my blogging experiment.
No more! I'm back and everything is undoing a major renovation.
1. I'm redoing ThatOneGuy to include modules now instead of a huge list of stuff I use and promote.
2. I'm experimenting with a different brand with a new blog called Level-Up Marketing. This blog is going to have a definite theme: nerdiness and geekery. There will be a ton of overlap between the two blogs as I test out different brands. As of right now, I have it hosted with Weebly. Laugh all you want, but I'm on a mission to see if I can get a major blog started on one of the most basic web platforms out there.
I will update its hosting if it takes off, but I'm going to start it even lower than ThatOneGuy for now. The biggest difference being, despite having completely different themes (ThatOneGuy is very bright, Level-Up Marketing is darker with, perhaps thankfully, much less of my own face plastered all over it), Level-Up Marketing is more like a website with an attached blog whereas ThatOneGuy is very much a blog with a few web pages in it. Part of it is the platform, but part of it is trying out different things and seeing what works. Right now everything is in a state of change and experimentation. I'm throwing things at the wall to see what sticks and what falls to the floor.
3. I've joined the best team, GPS Funnel for National Wealth Center. I've been writing up a full review of it that I hope to get live soon. I was very skeptical at first (Googling Bill Marler's name didn't fill me with optimism, and the capture page looks spammy), but I'm sold on it now. It's the best way to get long-term profits, in my opinion.
4. I just got an iPhone 5c. This video quality isn't the best on it, but it might be a better option than my current Powershot for starting a vlog.
That's all for now. Things are coming and things are changing!

Weeks 7,8, 9, &10
Okay, there was about 3 weeks of family re-union stuff going on during which time I got virtually nothing done... Here's what I've managed to do during that time.
1. Bought Build a Blog Community (link coming soon)
2. Wrote more blog posts (including comment rules)!
3. Commented on blogs and got a Twitter share!
4. Got approved for Twitter cards, but I don't know how to use them...
5. Installed free version of CommentLuv, which allows approved commenters to include links to their most recent blog posts so other people can find them!
6. Wrote first chapter of new e-book, which you can get for free by subscribing to my newsletter.

Week 4
Week 4 is here, and now I'm going to kick my efforts up. I'm getting a handle on my other work, so more time is going to be devoted to ThatOneGuy. I spend way more time reading and learning, so now is the time for action.
1. I wrote two more blog posts! They're about mind hacking and explaining what attraction marketing is.
2. I got an iPhone 5c for my birthday, so I'm going to see if I can't make some videos using it. The last video I made, to go in conjunction with my baseball post, is very grainy. I'll probably put it up anyway, just so I can look back on it later and realize how far I've come.
3. I did a lot more research regarding content sharing.

EMP's Google+ group.
4. More forum posting.
5. Joined some Google+ groups as well as Triberr.

Week 3
I didn't do a lot this week other than practice making videos with my laptop's webcam this time. I can't seem to make my voice very clear, but people tell me that it sounds odd on everything. I just have a strange voice, I guess. I hate it, but I guess it's normal to hate the sound of your own voice...
However, I did do some great stuff.
1. New blog post about why marketing is like baseball. I'm hoping to get a video up for my Youtube vlog, but I'm still tripping over my words and losing my thoughts too often to actually put a video up right now.
2. I was posting more on marketing forums. Namely Digital Point and the Warrior Forum, which is sorely in need of good advice. The link to my site is in my signature, so the more good advice I give out there, the more incentive they have to click my link. Unfortunately, my site still isn't conversion-worthy, but I don't want to wait until it is to start building my reputation.
So, what do I want to focus on this week? This week is going to be hectic, and I'm busy working on getting leads for a business down in the Twin Cities, so my time is, unfortunately, divided. I'll probably get going on Better Networker next, working on more videos, and posting more blog posts.
My biggest goal is to actually get videos that, although not perfect, will actually retain viewers.

Week 2
All right, the blog is starting to go from embryo to actual baby website now.
1. Reshot video, still not uploaded: No Cost
2. Bought a tripod for camera: $15 (should arrive next week!)
3. Created Recommended Products page, Elite Marketing Pro page, My Experiment page: No Cost
4. Wrote one blog post. No Cost
5. Put in newsletter, plugins, etc. No Cost
Okay, so things are starting to take form. I'm trying hard to work on my video skills, but things just aren't falling quite in place. I'm going to edit the video I took anyway and wait until I get my tripod to start shooting more.
I plan to have video and text reviews for all the products I'm promoting (save MLSP), as well as for a lot of the blog posts. My YouTube channel will, hopefully, become my primary list.
Still no microphone (the old one I had won't go into my laptop), but that's okay. The sound quality is poor, but you can understand what's being said, so that's good.
I'm glad to be getting so many pages up. I have a lot more to do, but I'm still working through my vision for this site. I know my target audience, so I know what kind of language I want to use, but trying to figure out how many pages I need, etc. is a pain.
I have tons and tons of blog post ideas, though, so that's helpful!
